Recently released Battlefield 4’s received a lot of praise for its action and intensity. Its graphics also standout courtesy of DICE’s Frostbite 3 engine. However the game’s been terribly unstable on the PC leading to a famous response from Angry Joe.
Team Fortress 2
It was first released alongside Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Portal in the Orange Box in 2007. Team Fortress 2’s colourful style and humour have set it apart. The game’s now free on Steam.
Mass Effect 3
Though Bioware are best known for single-player games, the multiplayer element of Mass Effect 3 is a great game in its own right. There a long list of unlocks including subclasses, weapons, mods, ammo types and appearance customisations. There are also 5 different game challenges, 19 maps, 4 difficulties and loads of achievements.
Guild Wars 2
Arenanet’s MMORPG met with a great fan and critical response. Even Angry Joe loved it! With Guild Wars 2 you buy it up-front but then don’t have to play subscriptions as you have with other MMOs. It’s challenged the tired repetitive mechanics of MMOs and has free content updates every 2 weeks. It’s well designed, encourages teamwork and looks fantastic.
